Living Room -

This home is a great example of a restored bungalow, with what appears to be the original layout and finishes preserved. There is a lot of unpainted wood trim and gorgeous floors. The down sides of these homes for modern users tend to be the small room sizes and single bathroom (hence why so many homes do not retain their original features to sell in the current market). In this case, the basement remains unfinished (although the attic offers additional living space.)

You can see “Before” pics of this home on the 2004 listing.

If you think this house is adorable, but you really do need more bathrooms and open space, you are in luck. A similar house just came on the market across the street at 1002 Taylor St NE, listed at $$625,000., sporting a finished basement and a total of three baths.

The listing agents for this sale was Jake Abbot with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices PenFed Realty. Karen Thibeau with Long and Foster represented the Buyer.

We’re about a month out from summer. That means you’ve still got time for spring cleaning!

Lexi Grant, an operations manager at Well-Paid Maids, shared her go-to spring cleaning tips with WTOP News. Step one? Declutter. Get rid of items you don’t use, find space for items that need a home and organize those areas.

Then, it’s time to dust. Lexi starts with high-touch surface areas (think: refrigerator, dishwasher, counters, microwave). One area she sees often neglected is the bedroom — and it makes sense. Heavy furniture is difficult to move around, but it’s important to really get in there so dust doesn’t affect your sleep.
